Nothing much ever happened here since it hosted the Expo in 1970. I have been photographing this city for the last 15 years. However, I found myself in a dilemma as a photographer: I had found it fairly difficult to photograph my own city unlike other cities. After long-year struggles, I am acknowledging the fact that that is exactly my photography. Such realization convinced me to continue photographing Ibaraki, my own city, with a sense of renewal. I am willing to capture people and street scenes in my own way. Blue Period is a collection of my journey for the last 15 years.

Profile

Photographer based in Ibaraki-shi, Osaka.
2003 Graduated from Visual Arts Photography (evening class)
2007 Awarded the Konika Minolta Photo Premio
2008 Solo exhibition ‘Rakuchu Rakugai Observation Diary’ (gallery 176）
2012 ‘Sei to Shi’（’How are you, PHOTOGRAPHY?’ at Dohjidai Gallery of Art, Kyoto）
2014 ‘noah’（gallery 10:06）
2015 ‘route_31’（’How are you, PHOTOGRAPHY?’ at Dohjidai Gallery of Art, Kyoto）
2016 ‘176 reborn’（gallery 176）
2017 Photo exhibition ‘Blue Era – Ao no Jidai’ （gallery 176）
2018 Solo exhibition ‘Rakuchu Rakugai Observation Diary: Part 2’（TOTEM POLE PHOTO GALLERY, Tokyo）

布垣昌邦 / NUNOGAKI Masakuni ≫ 日本語 | 繁體中文 OSAKA-Blue Period Ibaraki is a city where I grew up and lived for […]

["post-448","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
