OSAKA-Blue Period
Ibaraki is a city where I grew up and lived for 41 years. Nothing much ever happened here since it hosted the Expo in 1970. I have been photographing this city for the last 15 years. However, I found myself in a dilemma as a photographer: I had found it fairly difficult to photograph my own city unlike other cities. After long-year struggles, I am acknowledging the fact that that is exactly my photography. Such realization convinced me to continue photographing Ibaraki, my own city, with a sense of renewal. I am willing to capture people and street scenes in my own way. Blue Period is a collection of my journey for the last 15 years.
